McLaughlin Ranch Cutting Horses was established in Wilton
California in 1994. The Ranch is owned by Jeff & Kay Barnes,
and was developed with a vision to breed and raise Cutting
Horses of uncompromising standards.
The Barnes family designed and built the Ranch in Wilton
California as a complete facility, not only housing the
broodmares and foals, but also a complete training facility
for the show horses set up for a professional trainer.
The prospects are raised at the ranch, at which time they
are prepared for sale as yearlings or sent on to training
programs in both California and Texas to establish a show
career. Brent Erickson handles the California horses at the
Wilton facility, and Gary Gonsalves trains the Barnes Texas
horses at his Millsap facility.
Proudly, the Barnes cutting horse operation has many
noteworthy achievements proving the success of the
bloodlines developed over time.
